Spring Term 2024: A Look at Our New Courses

The upcoming term, starting April 29, 2024, brings an exciting lineup of courses to Brighton College, catering to both new students and those wishing to deepen their expertise in their chosen fields.

MATH101 – Calculus I

Our new Calculus I course, led by Dr. Amir Amiraslani, who holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Western Ontario, offers a comprehensive exploration of differential calculus. This course is crucial for students pursuing careers in science and engineering, covering essential topics such as limits, continuity, derivatives, and the application of calculus in real-world problems. It’s designed to lay a robust foundation for further studies in advanced mathematical concepts​.

ENGL 125 – Professional and Technical Communication

ENGL 125 focuses on the critical skills of professional and technical communication. This course is particularly beneficial for students entering fields such as business, engineering, government, and technology. Through a series of practical assignments that culminate in a professional portfolio, students will learn to craft effective business communications and deliver compelling presentations, essential skills in today’s competitive job market​​.

CPSC120 – Introduction to Computer Science and Programming I

This introductory course in computer science and programming is perfect for students interested in technology and software development. Covering programming fundamentals, pseudocode, flowcharts, algorithms, and debugging tools, CPSC120 provides a solid foundation in the principles of computing. Students will learn to solve problems logically and efficiently, a skill that is increasingly valuable in a digital world
