Computer Requirements

A laptop or desktop computer, mouse, keyboard and headset are required. The computer must meet the following basic requirements:

OS

  • 64-bit Microsoft® Windows® 10/ Windows 11

CPU

  • 3+ GHz or faster processor
  • If program with Inventor course, 3.30 GHz or greater, 4 or more cores
  • Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 processors

RAM

  • 16 GB or more;
  • If for a program including an Inventor course: 24 GB or more

Disk

  • Installer plus full installation: 250 GB, SSD is recommended

Graphics

  • 4 GB GPU with 106 GB/S Bandwidth and DirectX 11 compliant
  • Any nVidia GTX/RTX video card

Display Resolution (Optional)

  • 3840 x 2160 (4K); Preferred scaling: 100%, 125%, 150% or 200% (Inventor only)
  • Resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 with True Color (Windows 10 64-bit and capable display card

The right operating system. It is highly recommended to use a Windows OS for your online courses because Mac OS is not compatible with some of the software, such as AutoCAD Revit, Civil 3D, Simply Accounting, etc.

A Windows computer with the latest Operating System is highly recommended for this program. A MAC computer may not be compatible with some of the software used and taught in the program such as Sage 50 & QuickBooks and some online learning sites such as McGraw-Hill Connect.

  1. Go to www.office.com and if you’re not already signed in, select Sign in.
  2. Sign in with the account you associated with this version of Office. This account can be a Microsoft account, or work or school account.I forgot the account I use with Office
  3. After signing in, follow the steps that match the type of account you signed in with.
  4. Office 365 apps is compatible in both Windows and Mac OS computer.

    1. From the Office home page select Install Office.

  1. Select Install (or depending on your version, Install Office).

    1. From the Office 365 home page select Install Office apps (If you set a different start page, go to aka.ms/office-install.)

  1. Select Office 365 apps to begin the installation.
    1. Go to website https://www.sketchup.com/try-sketchup
    2. Choose Personal

    1. Click Create Account
    2. Sign in with Google account or others
    3. Here is the example with Google account
    4. Choose ‘Architecture’ in Interest and click checkbox ‘I agree’, then click Continue to My Apps

    1. It turns to App download page

  1. Click ‘Download’
  2. Double click file downloaded to and install
  3. After installation completes, use the registered account to activate software for 30 days
    1. Visit https://www.autodesk.com/education/home
    2. Click Free Software
    3. Pick up Software you want to download
    4. Create an account
    5. Fill up the form and click next

    1. Message for Verification

    1. Check your email and click Verify Email
    2. Account is verified

    1. Fill out the form

    1. After completing form, and click NEXT, you will see
    2. Your account is ready

    1. After CONTINUE, the site will jump to Autodesk homepage, please still type education web address https://www.autodesk.com/education/home to access education community site
    2. Now you can pick up the software and choose version to download, License and installation key will appear after software is picked up
