Brighton College is thrilled to announce an enriching array of new academic courses designed to ignite passion and expand knowledge. These courses, offered at our MetroPointe campus, are perfect for those new to college life or anyone looking to delve deeper into their academic interests. Here’s what you need to know:

Diverse Course Offerings

Brighton College’s latest courses cater to a variety of interests and academic needs, including:

  • CPSC120 – Introduction to Computer Science and Programming I: Perfect for those interested in computing science, this course covers programming fundamentals, pseudocode, flowcharts, algorithms, and debugging tools​.
  • ENGL100 – University Writing: This course enhances essay and report writing skills, focusing on the academic writing process, critical thinking, and active reading​.
  • ECON103 – Microeconomics: For those interested in economics, this course explores microeconomic principles, decision-making by consumers and producers, and market interactions​.
  • MATH101 – Calculus I: Tailored for science and engineering students, this course offers a comprehensive overview of differential calculus, covering a range of topics from limits and continuity to parametric equations.

Admission Requirements

To enroll, applicants must:

  • Have completed secondary school (Grade 12) or its equivalent.
  • Be proficient in English at the Grade 12 level. Proficiency in math at the Grade 12 level is also required for CPSC 120 and MATH 101 enrollees.
  • Be legally authorized to study in Canada and possess a government-issued photo ID​

Course Fees and Textbook Requirements

Each course carries a tuition fee of $200, due on January 12, 2024. Notably, this fee will be refunded if students attend at least 80% of their scheduled classes from January 8 to March 15, 2024. Required textbooks can be purchased from the college bookstore or online from the publisher​.


Application Process

  1. Apply online through myBC.
  2. Receive an Offer of Admission within one week, contingent on meeting admission requirements.
  3. Pay the tuition fee by the specified deadline.
  4. Purchase required textbooks as instructed​.
