What is AutoCAD?

Share

AutoCAD is a computer-aided design (CAD) software created by AutoDesk, and it is the most widely used CAD software in the industry. Architects, designers, and drafters use this program to design commercial and residential buildings, as well as other structures.

One of the key benefits of AutoCAD is its ability to automate the drafting process. Instead of creating each line and curve manually, AutoCAD provides tools that allow you to create and edit shapes with ease. Additionally, the software allows you to apply dimensions, annotations, and other details to the drawings, making it easier to convey design intent to clients and stakeholders.

Why should you learn AutoCAD?

AutoCAD is the original CAD software, and employers look for proficiency in this software specifically when hiring. By not learning this particular software, job seekers are hurting their chances of getting hired by a reputable company.

Where can you learn AutoCAD?

Many colleges, universities, and technical schools offer AutoCAD as a course or program. However, not all of them offer comprehensive training or provide you with the tools and resources you need to succeed.

If you are looking for an AutoCAD program that offers in-depth training and support, Brighton College’s AutoCAD diploma program is worth considering. This 31-week program provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to design, draft, and manage projects using AutoCAD. Additionally, the program offers a 4-week practicum for the certificate and a guaranteed practicum placement for the diploma to help prepare for your career.

At Brighton College, you are provided with ongoing tools and resources to further advance your career in the drafting industry.
