The real question keeping you from applying: Can I actually do this and not destroy my relationships?
The Honest Answer
You will be busier. Some semesters will be harder than others. But most people manage it. Here’s how:
Communicate clearly: Tell your family/partner this is temporary. Set expectations. Schedule study time like appointments.
Ask for support: Can your partner take kids one evening a week? Can family help with cooking some nights? People want to help when they understand what you’re doing.
Protect sleep and exercise: Don’t sacrifice health. You need those to think clearly and manage stress.
Be flexible with perfection: Your house won’t be as clean. Family dinners might be less frequent. That’s temporary. Accept it.
The Real Trade-off
You’re trading 18-24 months of “less available” for a career where you’re more fulfilled, which actually improves your presence in relationships even when you’re busier.
