At Brighton College, student life is enriched by a comprehensive array of services designed to foster academic excellence and personal growth. The Student Services department plays a pivotal role in cultivating a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive campus culture.
Student Orientation
Embarking on your academic journey at Brighton College begins with an engaging student orientation. Scheduled one week before classes commence, this program equips new students with essential information and resources. It’s an opportunity to connect with dedicated staff and integrate into the college community, ensuring a confident start to your studies.
Workshops
Throughout the year, the college hosts workshops focusing on academic success and career readiness. Topics include:
- Work Placement Do’s and Don’ts
- Guest industry speakers
- Job search skills
- Library instruction
These sessions are designed to enhance students’ skills and prepare them for professional environments.
Tutoring
To support academic achievement, Brighton College offers free office hours with instructors and access to paid peer tutoring. Students can receive assistance from fellow Brighton College students or offer tutoring services to peers. Please note that a fee may apply for this service.
Student Advocacy
The student advocacy team is dedicated to assisting students facing barriers in their studies. They review exceptional circumstances on an individual basis, addressing issues related to appeals, accommodations, accessibility, complaints, and other student interactions across various departments within the college.
Graduation Ceremony
Each autumn, Brighton College organizes a convocation and awards ceremony in Vancouver, BC. This event celebrates the achievements of graduates, with special recognition for students on the Dean’s List and the Honour Roll. Highlights from previous ceremonies are available on the college’s YouTube page.
