Digital Marketing Certificate (Online)

Brighton College’s Digital Marketing Certificate program will equip students with today’s in-demand proficiencies in the core principles and best practices of digital marketing. Throughout the program, students will engage with real-world tools and scenarios to develop a robust and nuanced understanding of contemporary digital marketing strategies and activities. By confronting a variety of scenarios and problems across different scopes and environments, students will practice planning and implementing digital marketing projects that are uniquely tailored to address specific industry goals and obstacles.

Courses will cover how to strategize and implement the use of search engine optimization, content marketing, social media marketing, email and mobile marketing, pay-per-click advertising, conversion optimization, and web analytics. Furthermore, students will be prepared to take the Online Marketing Certified Associate (OMCA™) exam and achieve the OMCA™ credential – an industry standard certification for digital marketing associates and entry-level practitioners.

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) or mature student status;
  • English language proficiency requirements:
    • Domestic students: Grade 10 English, or pass college English assessment
    • International students: IELTS 6.0 proof (or equivalent) or pass college English assessment

The Digital Marketing Certified Associate (DMCA) course is designed to help students achieve foundational mastery of digital marketing’s fundamental disciplines, including search engine optimization (SEO), social media, pay-per-click (PPC), conversion optimization, web analytics, content marketing, email and mobile marketing. This course also prepares students to take the Online Marketing Certified Associate (OMCA™) exam and achieve the OMCA™ credential – an industry standard certification for digital marketing associates and entry-level practitioners.

Duration: 60 hours, 3 weeks.

DMA210B | Advanced Search Engine Optimization
This course covers how to use SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to organically increase the visibility of your business. Topics of study include keyword management and research, on-page and off-page optimization, website management, link building, URL management, planning and marketing a website, and analytics.

Duration: 40 hours, 2 weeks.

Prerequisite: DMA100B.
DMA220B | Advanced Content Marketing
Content Marketing is aimed at building authority, amplifying a message, and acquiring/retaining an intended audience. Well-written marketing content helps build the reputation of a brand as a trusted advisor. This course trains participants to produce compelling and impressive marketing content, concentrating on the vital strategies, tactics, and best practices that a writer needs to employ in order to create and enhance effective content marketing efforts.

Duration: 20 hours, 1 week.

DMA230B | Advanced Social Media Marketing
This course trains participants in the rapidly expanding field of social media marketing. Participants will develop skills in attracting traffic to their websites and promoting and protecting a brand and its online reputation. The course will address the concept of different sales channels and how they relate to making and achieving social media marketing goal and micro-goals.

Duration: 40 hours, 2 weeks.

DMA240B | Advanced Email & Mobile Marketing
This course covers both email and mobile marketing channels. The first part of the course explores how email can be used to create a loyal base of engaged customers. In the second part of the course, students will explore various mobile products and services and learn how to use them to build an effective marketing campaign.

DMA250B | Advanced Pay Per Click (PPC)
Pay Per Click (PPC) is an effective internet advertising model used to direct traffic to websites. Advertisers pay the publisher or the website owner only when the advertisement is clicked. This course trains students in the fields of PPC and Paid Search. In the digital world, a PPC-certified professional is able to display compelling campaigns to target an audience based on expressed interests and demonstrated search history.

DMA260B | Advanced Website Conversion Rate Optimization
Website Conversion Rate Optimization is an effective framework that helps tap into the traffic a site receives and convert visitors into leads or sales. This course teaches students how to create a systematic, repeatable framework that consistently increases conversion rates on landing pages, microsites, and entire websites.

Duration: 20 hours, 1 week.

DMA270B | Advanced Web Analytics
Web analytics is the science of analysis that focuses on internet data. It involves the collection, analysis, and data-informed decisions leading to the optimization of an organization's digital ecosystem and supporting business processes. This course covers the fundamental concepts of web analytics, and deep dives into web, social, content, and mobile analytics scenarios. It also covers the popular web analytics tools used by marketers across the major industry domains.

Duration: 20 hours, 1 week.

Prerequisite: DMA100B.
DMA500B | Digital Marketing Capstone Project
For the final project of their program, students will select a company of their choice and redesign its digital marketing strategy. This capstone is designed to measure and demonstrate student exit competencies from the Digital Marketing Certificate program. Successful students will deliver a presentation in class and submit a formal report that clearly illustrates the relationship between the objectives of a company, the implementation of a strategy, and performance indicators on the success of the newly implemented strategy.

Duration: 40 hours, 2 weeks.

Prerequisite: All other DMA courses.

This course helps students prepare the required job search skills and knowledge they need to become employed. Students will learn the best known job search techniques to find viable opportunities, strategies to differentiate themselves from the competition and how they will add value to prospective employers in today’s competitive global economy.
