Yesterday we celebrated Jeans Day at Brighton College. Along with the entire Lower Mainland, the rest of British Columbia and the Yukon, thousands participated in various ways to raise money for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
This year marked the twenty-fourth anniversary of the charitable event in which thousands don their best denim to raise money for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Numerous events took place throughout Vancouver and while the final numbers aren’t in yet, the goal of $1 million raised doesn’t seem unlikely.
Starting in 1991, the BC Children’s Hospital has raised over $16.8 million with the Jeans Day event. The funds raised go directly to help British Columbia’s sick children to help improve quality of life and to support the most urgent health care needs at BC Children’s Hospital. BC Children’s Hospital is the only full-service, pediatric acute care hospital serving British Columbia and the Yukon.
Let’s continue to work hard to make changes in the lives of children who require care from this facility. Charitable organizations such as the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation work hard every year to put together events like this to encourage even the smallest contributions; even a small contribution can make a difference!
