Get Some Post Secondary Education in Construction: If you are looking for a long-term career in construction management, you may want to consider starting with a quick certificate or diploma. Almost all employers within the construction industry require post-secondary education in construction when hiring a manager and other executive positions. While it may not be needed for a general labour or a construction worker position, it is essential for getting a promotion.
Make Connections: Networking and making connections within the industry is an important part of your success. Contact big names in the industry, build rapport and establish relationships with project managers and executives. Find a mentor and/or an apprenticeship and work your way from the bottom up.
