The Industry

Canadian Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) Sector is a major economic driver and is outperforming much of Canada’s economy (Canada Country Commercial Guild, 2018). There are over 14,000 new ICT jobs are expected to be created in British Columbia by 2019. British Columbia plan to have more than 20,900 ICT positions over next five years (Labor Market Outlook, 2015–2019). Furthermore, companies of all sizes and in all other industry sectors need IT professionals to run smoothly; they employ database analysts, network consultants, and network administrators to take charge of database management, network administration, and computer maintenance and support.
