Time flies when you’re having fun and life can sometimes feel like it’s flying by too fast! Many of us mark the month of September as a new starting point for making changes in our lives- like getting your act together and pulling your grades up, coming back to school with a new style, or trying to make more time for your hobbies. Do you ever feel like you make a huge list of things to do and never really get around to them? Truth is, September is such a hectic month for settling in, so why not use this fresh month of October to make it all happen?
As our Health care students here at Brighton College would tell you, health and can be broken down into physical health, mental health and social health. Setting one goal for each of those areas would help you stay happy and healthy in more than one way. Choose one thing to do to take care of your physical health like joining an intramural team, or making jogging part of your daily routine. Then pick something to do that will challenge you mentally outside of class, like writing, playing an instrument or solving Sudoku puzzles once a week. Social health is really the fun one to take care of; that could mean meeting new people by joining campus clubs, deciding to hit the dance clubs more often, or reminding yourself to make time for old friends you haven’t seen in a while – there are lots you can do with that one!
So take a shot at it and set 3 goals for yourself this October and join the conversation. Remember to keep yourself healthy and happy physically, mentally and socially and you’re in for a fantastic school year!
