During this past November, staff and students came together to grow out their facial hair for what’s come to be known as Movember. Movember is a fundraising effort that takes place across the world in a total of 21 different countries. The goal? To raise awareness for men’s health:
“Movember is all about bringing back the moustache, having fun and doing good for men’s health. Mo Bros register and commit to growing a mustache for the 30 days of Movember. In doing so they become walking and talking billboards for men’s health. The mustache is our ribbon, the symbol by which we generate conversations, awareness and raise funds.”

With the combined efforts of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas at Brighton College, the Brighton College Mo Bros team raised $1,111! With the announcement that the college would be matching all accrued donations by the team, the grand total became $2,222! Nationally, over $28 Million was raised for the month of Movember in Canada. With the combined funds raised in 21 countries, 577 projects have been funded in support of men’s health.
Staff at Brighton College would like to thank everyone who donated and took part in supporting the team throughout the month and they’re already planning for a 2014 Brighton College Mo Bro team! Stay tuned next October for details on joining our team!
