Brighton College Presents: Quick Tips | 5 Ways To Beat The Heat

Brighton College presents our Quick Tips video series to provide some helpful tips and hints for your daily use!

5 Ways To Beat The Heat

1. Ice Water To-Go
Staying hydrated is the best way to beat the heat. You can even freeze half a water bottle overnight and fill it with cold water when you leave for some quick ice water on the go.

2. Keep the Car Cool
When parking your car, it’s always best to find a shaded spot. However, if your car gets hot from parking outside, try rolling down the passenger window and opening and closing the driver door to help cool the car quickly.

3. Remember Sunscreen
When you’re outside during a long sunny day, remember to wear sunscreen to protect from sunburn. Remember to re-apply it at least 4 times during the day when outside in direct sunlight for long periods of time.

4. Chilled Bedsheets
If you’re having trouble sleeping due to the heat, try placing your sheets in the fridge for several minutes in a sealed bag. You can now enjoy the benefits of a chilled blanket to help you fall asleep.

5. Take a Rest
If you’re feeling overheated, then take a quick rest under some shade or an air-conditioned room. Resting for at least 15 minutes will help bring your body temperature back to a comfortable level.
