Brighton College’s Surrey campus is now offering AutoCAD and Construction Technician programs! Be closer to home while you work on your career. Both modules will occur in the evening, which means a more flexible schedule, for you to maneuver around your day job. Develop the essential skills you need to fast-track your career in your spare time. The official start date for both programs is June 23, 2014.
AutoCAD
The AutoCAD Certificate program focuses on top-level AutoCAD, Construction, and Revit Architecture courses, to prepare students with the necessary training for careers as designers, drafters and project managers. You will discover how to use 2D and 3D AutoCAD design software and management tools that are frequently used in the industry. Your enhanced illustration skills will help attract future employers in the construction and engineering industries. The program is 13 weeks of instruction with an optional 4 weeks of practicum. The purpose of the practicum is for students to apply the concepts learned throughout the program in a professional environment at variously sized engineering and design businesses in the Lower Mainland.
Construction Technician
The Construction Technician Certificate program concentrates on practical construction procedures in civil and building infrastructure. Students utilize the most up-to-date computer drafting tools to have the technical skills, education, and competency to enter the workforce instantly after graduation. You will learn about local building standards, civil infrastructure construction, and Autodesk Civil 3D computer software. To obtain relevant experience, you are given the opportunity to visit a variety of local construction sites. The program is 15 weeks of instruction and an optional 4 weeks of practicum.
