Mental Health Emergency
If you of another student is faced with an emergency mental health crisis:
- Contact local emergency 911
- Visit the Emergency Room at the nearest hospital
- Contact Car 87 by calling Access & Assessment Center’s 24-hour crisis line at (604) 675-3700 or via 9-1-1
Sexual Assault
- If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, the steps you should take include ensuring the survivor’s safety, getting the survivor to a safe place, and seeking medical attention
- If you are feeling threatened or unsafe, inform the front desk at the campus. You may also call the campus front desk line (604) 430-5608

Drug & Alcohol Overdose
- If you think you may be having an overdose or are witnessing an overdose, call 9-1-1 immediately
- Brighten College’s address is 101- 4603 Kingsway Street, Burnaby
- Arrange for someone to meet first responders outside the building and escort them to the scene
- Alert the Front Desk
