A Microsoft Certified Professional is an individual who has completed one of Microsoft’s professional certifications. There are four certification categories: server, desktop, database, and developer. The certifications are then classified into four tiers: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), and Microsoft Certified Solutions Master (MCSM). The Microsoft IT Academy Certification Career Roadmap outlines the paths in which to take to obtain various IT careers.
The MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) is intended for those interested in entry-level IT jobs, and is the start point for a career in information technology.
