Marketing and Admissions Director

The role of the Marketing and Admissions Director is to position the College’s image at the forefront in the education market and increase enrollment through marketing strategies. The Marketing and Admissions Director is responsible for building a creative, integrated, multi-channel marketing department that creates brand awareness, reputation, and provides a steady flow of sales inquiries. All marketing investments will be measured for their returns and the Marketing and Admissions Director is responsible for all marketing activity and reporting outcomes to senior management. This role is also responsible for managing the Admissions team (sales/enrollments).

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Vice-President, Dean of Academics, Director of Operations

WORK HOURS: Regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm)

LOCATION: Brighton College, all campuses (e.g. Burnaby and Surrey; all accessible by Skytrain)

*Frequent travel within the lower mainland is required

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing Planning

  • Develop a comprehensive strategic marketing plan in conjunction with the VP Marketing and Dean of Academics
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the strategic marketing plan is effectively implemented
  • Evaluate new media technologies for potential integration within current plan
  • Manage the creation of marketing and sales support tools
  • Perform market analysis, targeting and positioning for each program
  • Implement and monitor integrated online/offline marketing including search engine optimization, search engine marketing, advertising (e.g. Google AdWords), public relations, trade shows
  • and other campaigns to generate leads
  • Maintain knowledge of marketing trends, developments and best practices
  • Analyze and report on marketing campaign results
  • Work with the Director of Operations regularly with regards to market projection

Marketing Budget

  • Propose marketing budget for all resources, purchases and staffing – in conjunction with the VP Marketing, Dean of Academics, and Director of Operations

Marketing Materials

  • Responsible for all marketing material content and coordinate with various departments as needed
  • Facilitate regular meetings with the Multimedia Designer and lead the Multimedia Designer with directions on how the material should be designed and implemented
  • Ensure all marketing materials produced (e.g. website, graphic design and print materials, videos) are equipped with professional polish and uphold the institution’s corporate branding standards

Admissions

  • Hire and motivate team of highly skilled Educational Advisors
  • Facilitate regular meetings with the Admissions team
  • Responsible for monitoring the performance of the Admissions team with regards to sales / enrollment
  • Coordinate all aspects of Campuslogin with the Admissions team
  • Manage and delegate leads on Campuslogin
  • Communicate regularly with admissions team in regards to quantity and quality of leads

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:

  • University degree / college diploma in marketing, business or a related field, OR equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a marketing management position, ideally within the education industry
  • Exceptional knowledge of marketing strategies, concepts and practices
  • Effective time management, organization and leadership skills
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office applications and Google AdWords and Google Analytics
  • Ability to compile and analyze performance data in order to develop metrics which support decision-making for resource allocation and marketing campaigns

Educational Advisor (Sales/Admissions)

Sales professionals who are passionate about changing people’s lives through education, join our team! The purpose of the Educational Advisor (Sales/Admissions) is to promote and sell the programs of the College to potential students by identifying the appropriate programs that meet their individual career goals. The primary function of this position is to maximize each opportunity to market programs and to meet or exceed the enrollment targets for the College.

The Educational Advisor (Sales/Admissions) will provide motivation to students to ensure their success in the program, and also perform related administrative and reporting duties.

  • Interview potential students according to the College Admissions Presentation Structure to explore their background, interests and identify their individual career goals; advise on appropriate programs to meet their goals
  • Complete enrollment of new students including related paperwork and providing information on payment options and requirements, as outlined in the College Admissions Procedures document
  • Maintain records to track and follow-up on potential leads, provide motivation and encouragement to potential students as appropriate
  • Track and report weekly activities (leads, appointments, interview, enrolment)
  • Provide ongoing coaching and motivation to students to support their success
  • Attend regular marketing meetings; establish and maintain monthly targets
  • Follow up on potential and actual cancellations
  • Participate in training of new educational advisors
  • Other duties as assigned to support the objectives and purpose of the College

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum one to three years of sales experience in a results driven, service- oriented, fast paced environment, preferably in the educational industry

Employment Coordinator (Career Services)

Brighton College is looking to add a passionate team player to our Career Services department! The Employment Coordinator will mainly be responsible for arranging and monitoring the work experience placements for students from various programs, as well as providing advice and guidance to support the employment needs of students and graduates. The Employment Coordinator will also strive to develop and expand a strong network within the local business community and continually look for ways to improve the services provided by the Career Services department.

  • Advise students with resume writing, job search techniques and interview skills
  • Facilitate job search workshops to students
  • Cold-call companies to explore work experience and potential career opportunities for our students
  • Coordinate the work experience placements for students from various programs (e.g. international trade & freight forwarding, accounting/payroll, business management, hospitality management, network administration)
  • Must place all students into suitable work experience placements on-time
  • Monitor students who are currently on practicum or co-op placements and conduct site-visits to assess their progress as needed
  • Represent Brighton College at industry / networking events for functions related to the Career Services department and build a strong network within the local business community (e.g. Board of Trades, active and potential employers)
  • Coordinate various Career Services-related events (e.g. industry event, networking event, guest speakers)
  • Assist with using social media avenues such as Facebook & LinkedIn to promote the Career Services Department
  • Maintain alumni engagement

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:

  • Certificate, diploma or degree in a related field (e.g. Career Development Practitioner, HR)
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role

International Trade Instructor (Blended Program: In-Class and Online)

We are looking for passionate international trade industry professionals to join us as an instructor for our brand new International Trade and Freight Forwarding Blended program.This is an exciting opportunity which provides flexible work hours as the Blended program involves both online and in-class instruction. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to teach part-time on an auxiliary basis (dependent on course availability), and will be prioritized for future teaching opportunities.

Work Location & Work Hours:

  • Burnaby Campus (accessible by skytrain)
  • 10 hours of in-class instruction + 10 hours of online instruction per week (in-class: Tuesday 6pm-10pm and Saturday9am-3pm; online: flexible)
  • Additional administrative work (e.g. curriculum development) may be offered to the suitable candidate
